|Visit of Senior Officials from NDMA-Thrissur District|

National Disaster management Authority, Government of India intends to utilize the services of Common Service Centres (CSC) for disseminating various awareness generation activities on management of various disasters.
In this connection, Sri. A. B. Prasad IAS, Secretary and Dr. G. S. G. Ayyangar IAS, Joint Secretary NDMA have visited Akshaya Centres in the district on 09.12.2009. The aim of the visit is to ascertain the suitability of CSCs for carrying out the awareness activities assigned by them. The team visited CSCs at Guruvayoor, Vatanappilly, Valappad, Edathiruthy & Perinjanam which are in coastal area. They made interactions with Entrepreneurs and Panchayat Members regarding the activities and expressed satisfaction.
The team also made initial discussions with District Collector Dr. V. K. Baby IAS at Collectorate, Thrissur, Power Point presentations on Akshaya and FRIENDS were conducted. Sri. Rajamanikam IAS, Assistant Collector, Sri. K. V. Padmakumar, Zonal Co-ordinator, Akshaya and Aji Francis Kollannur, Assistant District Co-ordinator, Akshaya were also participated in the discussions.
