Akshay  Project was launched by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam as an e-literacy project in 2002.

In 2005, Malappuram achieved 100% e-literate and phase two of e-literacy was launched in 7 more districts. 

Kannur declared 100% e-literate in 2007  marked the achievement of being the second district after Malappuram to achieve the100% e-literacy fete. The project also took a roll-out in the remaining 6 districts in the state.

Thanks to the hard work put up by Akshaya Entrepreneurs, Kerala achieved 100% e-literacy in year 2008.

Launch of UIDAI AADHAAR Enrolment and allied services through Akshaya

Integration with CSC e-Governance Ltd. Simultaneous with the initiatives in Kerala Government of India launched Citizen Service Center Scheme with the similar concept of “ICT to the Masses” and integrated Akshaya Centers in the CSC Scheme. The tag of CSC- Common Service Centers helped the addition of a big bundle of G2C, B2C and G2G services to the potential offering of Akshaya e-Centres.

Launch of e-district to deliver various G2C services, especially revenue department certificates to citizens.

Stepping into Financial Inclusion

Akshaya took charge of the responsibility of covering the video surveillance of 1022 sensitive booths through webcasting during the 2014 LSGI elections. The mission was reassigned to Akshaya for over 3000 booths for the 2016 KLA Elections as well.
